2019 Outstanding Recycling Effort

Bring Us Your Plastic Bags!

Gather your plastic bags and bring them to one of our bag swap events to trade in for a sustainable alternative: our reusable tote bags.

We will be set up at businesses around the community throughout the month, so you can pick a time and place that's convenient for you.

Follow our social media to see when and where we will be set up throughout the month!

Plastic bags take hundreds of year to break down, and they don't even decompose. Instead, they degrade into harmful microplastics that contaminate our water supply and endanger the health of humans and wildlife.

The plastic bags that you bring us can be recycled into new plastic bags or products like plastic "lumber". However, they can only be recycled a small number of times before the plastic quality degrades and they cannot be reused.

Because of this, we hope to discourage the use of single-use plastic bags by providing you with our sustainable reusable tote bags.

Did you know that Americans use more than 100,000,000,000 plastic bags each year?

Clean Your Block

April

When neighbors get outside, get together, and get to work– the quality of life improves.

Clean Your Block: Dixon School

Clean Your Block is a great way to take pride in your community. A clean community signals and encourages people to dispose of their trash the right way.

Less litter leads to increased property values, less chronic stress, and improved overall well-being.

Follow our social media to see when and where Clean Your Block will take place this year!

Paint Your Heart Out

May

Keep Pensacola Beautiful's Paint Your Heart Out: Juanita Williams Park

PYHO is open to all Escambia County resident.

Paint Your Heart Out (PYHO) is a community beautification program that aims to beautify a public space in our community.

Once a year, we choose a building or area in the community that could use a glow up and invite volunteers and businesses to come together and improve our shared space. Tasks could involve anything from litter cleanup to pressure washing to painting.

Follow our social media to see when and where PYHO will take place this year!

Pieces Adrift

November

Pieces Adrift is our award-winning art show and silent auction. We take an interactive approach to educating the community about the beauty of upcycling and the dangers of litter and pollution in our waterways.

Each piece displayed at the exhibition is composed of at least 50% trash or litter and made by local artists of all levels.

Follow our social media for the date, time, and location!

The deadline for artists has passed for this year, but please check back here or watch our social media for next year!
